Seniors
Strength Training is VITAL! Without strength training, lean body mass declines with age and declines at an increasing rate after the age of 45 years to approx. 5% loss per decade. Muscle Mass and strength can be regained and maintained no matter what a person’s age or the state of a person’s body's musculature prior to the commencement of a strength program. Research has shown that resistance training for older people will improve strength, balance, flexibility and co-ordination, which will improve functioning ability for independent daily living, walking, balancing etc. as well as overall quality of life.
Leisurelife Senior Sessions are designed specifically for mature adults (over 50's) sessions may include: Use of the cardio equipment i.e. treadmills, bikes and cross trainers, hand eye co-ordination work with basketballs, balance and abdominal work with fit balls and floor work and always finishing up with a cool down and stretching.
