Explore, Discover and Learn at Victoria Park Library, we aim to inspire young imaginations with our collection of picture books, board books and novels. Reading to your child and interacting from a young age has been proven to assist in child development and learning.
Baby Rhymetime
9.30am Friday Mornings during School Term
No Bookings required
Enjoy a morning of stories, finger games, songs and rhymes for parents and babies 6-18 months. Rhymetime is free to attend.
Better Beginnings
Sharing a love of reading, rhyming, singing and talking with your baby is one of the best things you can do to give your baby a head start in life. The Better Beginnings Family Literacy Program is coordinated by the State Library of WA and delivered through public libraries to support parents as their child’s first teacher. Bored in the School holidays?
The Library hosts a range of fun activities for primary school aged children throughout the school holidays. Many activities are free or low cost and materials are supplied. Learn a new skill meet some new friends and do something different these school holidays. For information and bookings check the events calendar.
Graphic Novels and Magazines
The Library caters for a wide range of ages with subscriptions to some of the most popular magazines for children and young people.
Loc@l
Loc@l aims to enrol Year One children in the Town as Library members. In Term One of each school year, all Year One children at participating schools will receive information regarding the Loc@l programme. Through the program, we aim to help develop good reading and study habits, as well as introduce local families to the benefits of Library membership.
School Project Resources
A large range of books including school project materials and general interest topics, art and craft, historical myths, legends and more for young minds. We also provide online database resources and access to Computers.
Story time Sessions
Tuesday: 9.30am
Thursday: 9.30am
Saturday: 2.00pm
Come along and enjoy story time at the Library for children aged 2+ years. Due to the popularity of the Tuesday and Thursday sessions there is a limit 25 children over 2. Each child requires a pass to participate; passes are available from 9.00am at the front counter. Passes are collected at the end of each session.
Toddler Theme Kits
The Library has 10 different kits available for loan. These resources are designed to encourage interaction between adults and children by promoting storytelling and early literacy activities in a variety of different ways.
Your Tutor
Struggling with homework? Need help with a study question? Your Tutor is available from 4pm each afternoon to help you. Online chat, upload files and support from real life tutors.
X-Box
The Library has a FREE X-Box and games available for use, spend the afternoon with friends at the Library.
