Community Safety and Crime Prevention Plan

The Community Safety and Crime Prevention Plan reinforces the importance of maintaining a partnership approach with every community stakeholder to address both the perception and the reality of crime and safety issues within the community.   In January 2005, the Town of Victoria Park entered into a Community Safety and Crime Prevention partnership with the Office of Crime Prevention.  Its aim is to enable residents to pursue and attain the fullest life possible, without fear or hindrance from crime and disorder through the following goals:

Goal 1: Supporting families, children and young people

Goal 2: Empowering communities and regenerating neighbourhoods

Goal 3: Identifying and tackling priority offences

Goal 4: Reducing Repeat Offending

Goal 5: Governance

COMMUNITY SAFETY WORKING GROUP MEETINGS

The Community Safety Working Group supports the Town with an ongoing process of consultation and review of the Community Safety and Crime Prevention Plan to ensure community safety and crime prevention initiatives align with key priorities.  Established as a Working Group of the Town, the Community Safety Working Group meets every two months and is represented by some of the following key stakeholders:

  • WA Police
  • Department of Housing
  • Office of Crime Prevention
  • Department of Corrective Services
  • Town of Victoria Park Staff and Community Representatives
