Drainage

The Town is responsible for dealing with stormwater drainage on the streets. This is usually achieved by piped drains below ground and open areas which transport stormwater to drainage "sumps” and other outlets. The sumps are fenced basins/holes in the ground, where the stormwater is collected which then soaked into the ground.

The Town carries out regular maintenance of its drainage system in order to prevent local flooding. You can assist in the prevention of flooding by clearing any leaves or other debris from the soakwells or other drainage systems on your property throughout the year.
