Notification of Road Works – Road Intersection Upgrade - Teddington Road and Burswood Road
Road intersection upgrade works have been approved for Teddington Road and Burswood Road to improve future traffic flow and road safety on Teddington Road and Burswood Road (east of Teddington Rd). These works have been proposed to link in with the road modification works currently being constructed by Main Roads WA on Great Eastern Highway.
The Town has appointed Dowsing Concrete to undertake the road intersection upgrade works proposed for the intersection of Teddington Road and Burswood Road. The proposed works will change the priority of traffic flow such that the north bound traffic on Teddington Road can continue onto Burswood Road (eastern section) heading towards the intersection of Great Eastern Highway/Victoria Park Drive without giving way. Eastbound traffic travelling on the western leg of Burswood Road will in future have to give way to traffic on Teddington Road. There will be new road edge concrete kerb and median islands to channel traffic according to the new intersection design and additional pedestrian crossing points will be installed on Burswood Rd. The road asphalt at this intersection will also be resurfaced so that previous road markings will be completely covered over to prevent confusion. In the next few weeks, underground service location works will be carried out and Telstra and Vocus Communications will start relocating optic fibre cables.
The proposed site works will commence in December 2016 and are expected to be completed towards February 2017 (subject to weather condition, timing of works by the public utility service providers and peak hour traffic conditions).
It is expected that at times, the work zone and the surrounding area will be congested and traffic delays will occur. Your patience and understanding is appreciated. Alternative routes are available and detour signs will be provided during times when a section of the affected roads is to be closed.
An electronic copy of the construction plans can be found below and a hard copy is available for viewing at the Town’s Administration Centre, 99 Shepperton Road, Victoria Park.
If you have any queries related to the construction works, please contact Denis Lau (Street Operations Engineer) on 9311 8111.
