If you have lost an animal, please call the Town Rangers;

All found animals are returned to the pound which is open daily, except for certain public holidays 11:30am - 12:30pm. Make sure you check the found animals section of the website regularly to ensure the animal is not in the pound.You can also tweet the town @townofvicpark with the details or picture of the lost animal and we will retweet the information to our followers.
NB: If you believe your dog is in the Town of Victoria Park Pound please contact the Rangers to organise collection - fees will apply.You must have a lead with you before you are able to collect a dog from the pound.

I want to adopt an dog in the pound, how much does it cost?
It depends if the dog is sterilised and if you want to also purchase a microchip. For further information call 9311 8171.
Are the dogs checked by a vet before they are rehomed?
Dogs are checked by a vet for medical conditions however no guarantees can be made about the behaviour or medical attributes of a rehomed dog because the dogs history is usually unknown.
Are the dogs dangerous?
Because officers are unaware of the history of the dogs which are impounded we cannot make a guarantee as to what the dog may behave like in the future.
I have found a dog after hours, what should I do?
Contact the on call ranger 9311 8188 if possible we ask that you hold the dog until the next day and we will collect the dog first thing in the morning.
I have found an injured dog?
Rangers can collect injured animals and take them to a vet however if the animal is seriously injured you may wish to take it yourself as after hour attendance can take time.
I have found a cat, can the rangers collect it?
The Cat Act is due to come into force over the next 2 years which will give the Town the authority to impound cats. Currently there are no local laws or ability for the Rangers to collect cats. We recommend that you call the local vets or Cat Haven for options.
Are there any costs associated with picking up my impounded dog from the Pound?
Yes. Call the Rangers on 9311 8171 to find out what the costs will be. Your dog must also be registered with a Council and proof of registration must be produced before any dog can be released from the Pound. If your dog is not registered then you will have to do this at the pound before your dog is released.
