The Town of Victoria Park is committed to creating a healthy community that is strong, inclusive, resilient and sustainable by connecting people, enhancing cultural activity and giving everyone the opportunity to reach their potential.
A healthy community is not a perfect place; it is in a dynamic state of renewal and improvement, therefore, the Town engages and consults with the community to work towards its vision of a vibrant lifestyle.
Strategies and projects to deliver this vision include the Disability Access and Inclusion Plan, ‘My Life, My Place’ and ‘You’re Welcome’ and are outlined below.
The 2017-2022 Disability Access and Inclusion Plan (DAIP) guides the Town in its intention 'to strive to provide and promote access and equity in service provision for all members of the community' and is a responsibility shared across all directorates.
Grant funding may be available for individuals with a disability, and service providers.
Support services for those with a disability.
My Life, My Place was initiated through community engagement which aimed to break down social and attitudinal barriers to inclusion as experienced by people with a disability and their families and carers.
You're Welcome Access WA is a tool to create Western Australia as an accessible state and to assist business and community to tap into the rapidly expanding market for accessible attractions, services and facilities.
The Group is empowered to contribute recommendations for the Town to improve as an accessible and inclusive community.
