Disability grant information
Community Living and Participation Grants provide up to $10,000 for customised solutions that support people with disability to participate in family and community life. Individual people with disability can apply for equipment, resources, activities and projects connected to their particular social and recreational goals. Community groups can apply for equipment, resources, training and activities that promote inclusion of people with disability.
Independent Living Centre manages two grant programs for individuals with disabilities. These are the Disability Equipment Grant (DEG) and the Equipment For Living Grant (EFL). Both grants have different eligibility and types of equipment/assistive technology they fund.
Community Participation Funding provided by the Department of Sport and Recreation funds initiatives that target low participation groups including Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CaLD), Aboriginal communities and people with a disability. Funding is available to community groups and is open year-round with grants limited to $1,000–$5,000. Projects need to increase participation in sport and active recreation or develop the skills of the people involved in the applying organisation or local community.
