Connect Victoria Park is the new name for The Senior Citizens’ Welfare Association or The Homestead, a well-established community organisation in Mackie Street, Victoria Park that provides opportunities for social connection for older people living in the local area and access to affordable housing. Other services offered are podiatry, hairdressing hearing testing and volunteer tax help. Activities include carpet bowls, draft, bingo, coach trips, luncheons, musical concerts. Community groups using the facility currently include Leonard Old Time Dancing, Country Women’s Association, Toastmasters and Victoria Park Community Yoga.
Harold Hawthorne Community Centre have been helping people stay active and independent in the community since 1968 and offers accommodation and support to stay in your own home. It offers a community centre, over 55s village, home and community care, employment and volunteering. The community centre has a diner, podiatry service and provides opportunity to make new friends and enjoy a wide range of activities, like indoor bowls, bingo, games, craft, internet classes, movies and social outings.
East Victoria Park Family and Community Centre is a not for profit community facility that offers a mix of programs and services that are inclusive and diverse.
