Applications open: Place Grants opened on 1 August 2022.  As of January 2023 Place Grants are temporarily closed as the grant pool is close to being fully spent.  If the grant pool is not fully expended, Place Grants may open again.  If you have a place grant idea, please contact your Place Leader (link below) to discuss if a future application may be possible.

Total funding value:  $40,000.

Maximum application value:  Up to $15,000 or $5,000 for murals.

Place grants aim to support community-led initiatives that:

  • Make a positive contribution to the physical character, amenity or activation of a neighbourhood.
  • Build the capacity and capability of a town team or place-based group.

Initiatives should foster collaboration and active participation of local people (residents, workers, business owners and/or community groups etc.) to address local priorities and improve local neighbourhoods.

Eligibility criteria apply, so please speak with your local Place Leader for advice before you fill out an application for information on eligibility criteria, planning initiatives and preparing applications.
