Applications are open for the Town of Victoria Park’s inaugural Vic Park Young Leaders program.

Created in response to community consultation which formed the basis for the Town’s Youth Action Plan 2021-24, the program is seeking passionate community members between the ages of 16 and 25, who want to make an impact within their community and further develop their skills and experience as leaders.

16 applicants will be chosen at a time to take part in the program, joining either the Young Influencers Team or the Young Changemakers Team.

The Young Influencers will work to generate youth-based events and communications strategies with the Town, while the Young Changemakers will provide advice and feedback on policies and procedures, deliver youth-engagement activities and work with the Town on relevant initiatives.

Based on current advice from WA’s Chief Health Officer and the WA Government, it is recommended that all Western Australians aged five or over be vaccinated against COVID-19. As requirements around mandatory vaccinations will change during the Town of Victoria Park’s COVID-19 transition process, it is strongly encouraged that all individuals applying for the Youth Leadership Teams be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 with an approved vaccine (unless medically exempt). Lack of vaccination may disqualify you or hinder your participation in the Youth Leadership Team program, as from 5 February 2022 increased restrictions will apply to those over the age of 16 who are unvaccinated and not exempt.
