What is an Urban Forest Grant?
The Urban Forest Grants program was launched for the first time in March 2020, to support residents, community members and organisations with funding to conduct projects that will contribute to the Town’s Urban Forest Strategy.
The Urban Forest Grant is an annual program, whereby selected projects are required to conduct their awarded planting activity or educational initiative during the planting season (June - October every year).
Up to $10,00 funding available for tree planting and awareness projects supporting the implementation of the Town’s Urban Forest Strategy:
- achieve 20% tree canopy cover
- maximise community involvement
- increase tree diversity
- maintain vegetation health
- improve water and soil quality
- improve urban ecosystems
Who can apply for an Urban Forest Grant?
- Enjoy gardening and being outdoors with others?
- Want more trees to improve our local environment and create a healthier, happier Town to live in?
- Got creative tree planting ideas to help reach our Urban Forest Strategy (UFS) goal of 20% tree canopy cover?
- Are you a local resident, community group, business or organisation?
If you say YES to any of the above, then we invite you to apply for the Town of Victoria Park annual Urban Forest Grants program.
Applications for the 2023 planting season is now open from Friday 28 October 2022 and will close on Friday 24 February 2023!
