Vic Park Leafy Streets The Vic Park Leafy Streets program is delivery new street trees throughout the Town each year to increase our canopy cover and to ensure Vic Park's street's are leafy and healthy.
Community Planting Every year, the Town’s Urban Forest Team holds community planting days. It is a day where residents and community members are invited to plant tree seedlings at a selected park or area around Town that has been identified as suitable for creating Urban Ecosystems.
Urban Forest at Home Through Urban Forest at Home, the Town’s residents are able to request free trees and shrubs for planting on private gardens and verges (low shrubs only), during the planting season (between June - September every year).
Vic Park Green Basins The Vic Park Green Basins program is another Urban Forest initiative that is focused on greening upgrades to sumps around the Town, so that we can improve the function, appearance and ecological contributions of these spaces.
Urban Ecosystems A healthy urban environment contains a rich patchwork of green spaces - parks, street plantings, greenways, urban streams, commercial landscaping - that provide the living heart of the urban environment.
UFS Planning & Policy Objectives While projects that get trees in the ground and involve the community are a priority, it is also important that the Town reviews and adjusts policies and practices that will help achieve the goals of its Urban Forest Strategy (UFS).
Urban Forest Grants The Urban Forest Grant is an annual program, whereby selected projects are required to conduct their awarded planting activity or educational initiative during the planting season (June - September every year).
Bus Stop Thank You Gardens The Urban Forest team is transforming some bus stops around Town, from its typical concrete surroundings into a “garden” with some plants and trees.
Request a free street tree An annual Town tree planting program happens during the winter months. As residents you can request your property frontage be listed for tree planting. Provided there is sufficient space you can even apply for multiple street trees!
Submit a Planting Project Proposal Residents and community members are invited to propose tree planting ideas for the Town to implement. Complete a proposal online today!
