ATO – Tax Help program
The Town of Victoria Park’s Digital Hub is partnering with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) to run the Tax Help program from mid-July to October 2018.
Tax Help is a network of trained volunteers who help people prepare their returns at tax time each year. Volunteers are recruited from the general community and the ATO oversees the recruitment, training, accreditation and support.
The program is designed to help people on low incomes with basic individual tax returns Tax Help volunteers can assist eligible taxpayers in the following areas:
- completing straightforward personal tax returns using myTax
- completing applications for refund of imputation credits
- completing a non-lodgement advice for those who do not need to submit a tax return
If your income is around $60,000 or less for the year, you may be eligible for Tax Help. Tax Help volunteers are not able to assist taxpayers with more complex tax affairs such as income from business, investment properties, rent, voluntary agreements or royalties.
