Wheelers ePlatform

wheeler logoWheelers ePlatform is a secure, easy to use eResource that enables Victoria Park Library members to browse and borrow eBooks.

Borrowing limit: Four items (simultaneously)
Reserves: Reserve up to four titles per month
Loan period: Three weeks (21 days)
Renewing items: When the loan period is over your eBook will automatically become unreadable. You will have to check it out again if you want to continue reading it.
Returning items: You can return titles before they expire, by selecting ‘Return’.

To access Wheelers ePlatform: Connect via the website.  

To create a Wheelers ePlatform account: Register as a Victoria Park Library member with your membership card number and password/pin and sign in.

If you do not currently have a pin number please contact the library and ask staff to assign one to your membership details. 

To read on a computer: 

  • Go to your library’s ePlatform website, log in, then browse for eBooks
  • Borrow a desired title, then select 'Read'
  • Add the title to your Favourites in your Browser when the book is open to access it offline
  • Go to your library’s ePlatform website when you want to begin reading or listening again.

To read on a device: 

  • Visit the App store and install the ePlatform app
  • Search for the Town of Victoria Park and sign in, then browse for eBooks
  • When you have found a title you like select Borrow
  • Select Read or View all reading options. Items can be read either in a web browser or using reader software, Adobe digital editions.

If you wish to use Adobe you will need to download and set it up.

Alternatively, you can use your library’s ePlatform website, where you can either read eBook titles through your web browser or download them. Visit the support section for step-by-step instructions.

BorrowBox

BorrowBox is an award winning Australian App that enables WA Public Library and State Library members to browse and borrow bestselling eBooks and eAudiobooks on your Apple or Android device for limited periods, through digital loans.

Borrowing limit: Six eBooks and six eAudiobooks (including reserved titles).
Reserves: Reserve up to six eBooks and six eAudiobooks (includes current loans).
Loan period: Two weeks (14 days). Titles are deleted from your account once the loan period is finished.
Renewing items: Loans can be renewed twice if there are no current reserves for the title.
Returning items:
You can return titles before they expire, increasing your available loans. If you do nothing, the app will remove them automatically when the loan period is finished.

To access BorrowBox: Connect via the website.  

To create a BorrowBox account: Register as a Victoria Park Library member with your membership card number and password/pin and sign in.

To read/listen on a computer: Download and install Adobe Digital Editions to read eBooks on your computer; listen to eAudiobooks via your computer's media player. (Visit the Help section of the website for step-by-step instructions.)

To read/listen on a device: Download and install the free BorrowBox App to your device, borrow titles online via the website, then download them directly to your device. (Visit the Help section of the website or read the user guide for step-by-step instructions.)

OverDrive

OverDrive banner WA Public Library and State Library members can borrow and read or download thousands of eBooks and eAudiobooks. Sign in with your library card to enjoy digital books on your computer, tablet, smartphone, or eBook reader anytime, anywhere.

Borrowing limit: 10 items.
Reserves: Reserve up to five items (excludes current loans).
Loan period: 7, 14 or 21 days, set your lending period under 'My account', 'Settings'.
Renewing items: Loans can be renewed by selecting 'Request again' under the title you would like to renew. If there are current reserves for the title, you may have to wait until the item has been returned. OverDrive will notify you once the title is available to download.
Returning items:
You can return titles before they expire by selecting 'Return' under the title you'd like to return.

Project Gutenberg Australia

Project-Gutenberg The Project Gutenberg Australia website provides access to free ebooks, with over 4,000 titles to choose from. All books are in the 'public domain' (not subject to copyright) in Australia and all have been prepared by volunteers. Anyone can access this website - no library card is required.

To access Project Gutenberg Australia: Click here to access the website.

To read on a computer: Use your web browser such as Internet Explorer, Firefox or Chrome to read either TEXT or HTML ebooks. Visit the HELP section for more information if needed.

To read on a device: Once downloaded to your computer, ebooks can be transferred to an e-reader or tablet. You will need to consult the user guide accompanying your e-reader or tablet on how to do this. Visit the HELP section for more information if needed.

uLIBRARY eAudio Platform

uLIBRARY-logo-with-wording-inside-01 Ulverscroft has made their uLIBRARY eAudio platform temporarily available to all library patrons. Enjoy unlimited free access until  31 July 2020.

To access uLIBRARY: Click here to fill in the registration form. Ulverscroft will then send you your log-in details.

To read on a computer: 

  • Go to uLIBRARY website, log in, then Search by Keyword, ISBN or Title. Or use the Advanced Search to search by Genre, Format, Availability etc.
  • Click the green ‘Borrow’ button to borrow the item.
  • You’ll find your borrowed items under ‘My Account’.
  • Follow the instructions to download your uLIBRARY eBook reader and view your borrowed books.

To read on a device: Download and install the free uLIBRARY to your device, borrow titles, then download them directly to your device.
