StoryBox Library logo A place where the wonderful world of Australian Children's Literature is on permanent exhibit; StoryBox Library is a beautiful online ‘reading room’. StoryBox Library connects children with literature through the complementary medium of film. StoryBox Library provides the audience with a vibrant, interactive experience via a diverse range of storytellers, each sharing past and present book titles.

 To access StoryBox Library: Connect via the website and sign in with your Victoria Park Library membership card number.

To watch on a computer: Stream videos of books being read aloud from your web browser.

To watch on a device: Connect to the website via your device's web browser, then stream videos of books being read aloud on your mobile device or tablet.

OverDrive eReading Room for Kids

eReading Room for Kids logo OverDrive eReading Room just for kids provides a safe and easy browsing experience for children. Kids can browse, sample, place holds and borrow eBooks and eAudiobooks appropriate for their age range and reading level.

To access the eReading Room: Connect via the website.  

To create an eReading Room account: Register as a Victoria Park Library member with your membership card number and sign in.

To read/listen on a computer: Read or listen to your borrowed titles online from your web browser, or download them via the OverDrive App.

To read/listen on a device: Download and install the free OverDrive App to your device, borrow titles online via the website, then download them directly to your mobile device or tablet.

BorrowBox logoYou can browse children's and young adult eBook and eAudiobook titles using the 'Start' function on the Bolinda Digital website.

 You can browse children's and teen eMagazines using the 'All Genres' search function on the RBdigital websiteIn the App select Filter and choose either Children or Teens from the Genre drop-down menu.

 Titles include: Horrible Histories, Dolly, Girlfriend, Krash, Seventeen, Minecraft World Magazine, The Complete Guide to Pokémon Go and more.

KidSpeak

eLanguage Learning for kids

KidSpeak

In a fun, easy-to-use language-learning program for young learners your children can build a solid foreign language foundation in English (available now), Spanish (June 2017 release) or Chinese, Mandarin (coming soon). Designed for ages 6 and up, children will learn words and phrases suitable for their age, needs, and interests. Combining animations with over 40 interactive activities, puzzles, and songs, each language is hosted by a fun cartoon "friend" and his or her playful pet, using only the language being taught. 

To access KidSpeak: Connect via the website. Please note KidSpeak is only accessible through Windows, Mac, iOS (tablet), Android (tablet) and Chrome OS web browsers. 

To create a KidSpeak account: KidSpeak is a feature of Transparent Languages Online. Connect to the TLO website and sign up as a Victoria Park Library member with your membership card number and sign in. From the "Choose a language to learn" page, choose English and select “English Immersion”. You will then be taken to the "Home page". From the top banner select "KidSpeak".

To learn on a computer: Learn a language online from your web browser.

To learn on a tablet: Connect to the website via your device's web browser, then begin your child's language learning journey on your tablet.

Busythings logo Busythings is an online resource for the early years that includes 115+ fun learning activities that help children learn important skills in the key learning areas of creative development, problem solving, reasoning, numeracy, communication, language and literacy and knowledge and understanding of the world. This subscription has been provided through Better Beginnings, supporting families in sharing a love of readings.

To access Busy Things: Connect via the website and sign in with your Victoria Park Library membership card number.  

To learn on a computer: Interact and play online from your web browser.

To learn on a device: Connect to the website via your device's web browser, then select your age group and start learning online on your mobile device or tablet.

Kanopy kids

Video streaming for kids

Kanopy logoKanopy Kids is free to stream for all library members and features hundreds of educational and enriching videos that spark children's imaginations. Kanopy has partnered with Common Sense Mediato provide developmentally appropriate age ratings so parents know which videos are best for their kids.Stream the videos that leave your little ones entertained and help them learn and grow! 

To access Kanopy Kids: Connect via the website.

To create a Kanopy account: Select sign up (top right corner) and enter in relevant information, i.e. name, email address and password. A verification link will be sent to your email. Click on this link and log in using your Victoria Park Library card and pin number.

If you do not currently have a pin number please contact the library and ask staff to assign one to your membership details.  

To watch on a computer: Stream movies and TV shows online from your web browser.

To watch on a device: Kanopy has an app for both iOS and Android-based devices. Download Kanopy from the Apple App Store or Google Play store.

Alternatively connect to the website via your device's web browser, then stream movies and TV shows online using your device.

You can also access Kanopy via RokuApple TVHDMI cable or ChromeCast.
