eSmart Libraries

Victoria Park Library is currently in the process of becoming an accredited eSmart Library.

eSmart Libraries is a cyber safety framework designed to fully equip libraries, staff and library users with the skills and tools they need for smart, safe and responsible use of technology. Libraries play a vital role in providing the community with access to a huge array of information and give guidance and support in the process. They are able to provide knowledge, skills and awareness of cyber safety and help support the wellbeing of their users.

Launched in August 2012 by The Alannah and Madeline Foundation's National Patron Julia Gillard, former Prime Minister of Australia, the $8 million multi-year partnership with the Telstra Foundation will deliver eSmart Libraries in collaboration with Australia's library network over six years to all of Australia's public libraries.
