Precinct Planning Program
The Local Planning Strategy recommends the local planning framework be progressively updated over the next 4-5 years through precinct planning.
Each precinct is complex and requires individual attention, engagement with landowners and community and development of tailored planning directions.
Precinct Planning Areas
The current focus areas for the Town's precinct planning program are shown below.
Albany Highway Precinct Planning | 2021-2025
Precinct planning for the Albany Highway area is well underway and kicked off in 2021 with a comprehensive research and community engagement campaign called Shape Albany Highway. In stage 1 of the project, the Town asked the community how they would like to see the Albany Highway precinct evolve into the future with a series of engagement events across Vic Park.
The outcomes Stage 1 are detailed in the two reports, which combine background research, engagement outcomes and precinct visioning to present a picture of Albany Highway today and our aspirations for Albany Highway tomorrow.
The Town is now progressing to stage 2 of Shape Albany Highway, which will involve using the data from stage 1 to develop a range of conceptual precinct planning options.
