BOLT Health and Fitness

484 Albany Highway, Victoria Park

Local business owner Ceri Cummings talks to Vic Park Biz News about how BOLT Health and Fitness got started and the best part of running the business.

How did BOLT Health and Fitness get started?

BOLT Health and Fitness started with a dream and the motivation to fill a gap in the market in terms of quality group training where members are coached, educated and empowered in their sessions.

At BOLT you will be guided through the prescribed exercises on your personalised program with strong focus on technique and correct form.

What is the best part of running BOLT Health and Fitness?

The best part of running BOLT is being in a position to help people achieve their health and fitness goals. We understand everyone’s journey is unique and so is the answer to their problems.  Being able to play a part in making a positive difference to someone’s life is priceless.

What kind of classes do you run and what is your personal favourite?

At BOLT Health and Fitness our sessions are like no other, we empower people through individualised fitness programs delivered in a high energy team environment. Our extensive list of sessions include:

BOLT Strong - A Strength focused session where each member is encouraged to push hard and to test their limits. Designed to increase strength and tone your body.

BOLT Con - A conditioning style session, where cardio meets bodyweight and lightweight exercises. Designed to improve your fitness and burn those calories.

BOLT Box - A Boxing inspired workout that’s a great way to elevate your heart rate without needing to step into the ring.

My favourite would be our BOLT STRONG session, it exposes people to different exercises and encourages them to try something they wouldn’t think to ever try on their own. We do this in BOLT STRONG session by breaking down barriers people have set for themselves as to what they can and can’t do. Seeing an individual work hard, build confidence and set a Personal Best in something they never thought possible is such an amazing feeling.

For a small business owner who doesn’t have time to commit to an extensive workout, what is the best exercise advice you can give them?

Everyone knows that being physically fit and healthy increases productivity so I think it should be a priority of everyone to make time to exercise. However, if you do happen to run out of time to do an planned/structured workout, just do something. Whether it’s a brisk walk in the morning or some bodyweight exercise at home. This will help clear your mind, release the important ‘healthy’ hormones and give your body the ‘brain-break’ it needs to maximise it’s potential the next day.

What do you love about being located in Vic Park?

It’s a tough decision between the diverse cultures (which leads to so many great restaurants) or the community connection.  If I had to choose one. It would be ‘Community Connection’. No matter where you go along the strip. There’s always a happy smile and welcoming face to greet you.
