Street trees and greening

Street trees and vegetation has a direct impact on the amenity of the public realm. The Town is committed to increasing the urban tree canopy through the Urban Forest Strategy and you can help, too, by considering some of the below opportunities. 

What could I do?

• Install and look after a plant container
• Apply for a street tree
• Submit a planting project proposal

What info do I need to know?

• Take a look at Policy 204 Improvement of verges or footpaths adjacent to commercial properties as well as the Street Verge Guidelines that detail the size and location requirements of plant containers.
