The Town of Victoria Park has received grants totalling $860,463 from Main Roads Western Australia to improve the safety of our roads and complete road asphalt resurfacing works.

The grants are part of the State Government’s Black Spot and Local Roads Programs. The majority of projects to be funded as part of these programs will be completed during the 2017-2018 financial year.

Black Spot road safety projects will be completed near the intersection of Roberts Road and Orrong Road, and the intersections of Temple Street and Hordern Street, and Hillview Terrace and Albany Highway.

Road asphalt resurfacing will be completed on Berwick Street between Sussex and Basinghall Streets, Albany Highway between Duncan Street and Teddington Street, and on sections of Bolton Avenue.

“One of our community’s biggest financial assets are the roads we all drive on” said Chief Executive Officer, Anthony Vuleta.

“These assets cost money to improve, maintain and upgrade – it’s great to receive extra funds to put towards the total cost of these projects, to deliver more for our ratepayers.”

Residents and businesses living in the surrounding areas will be notified of works before they are to begin and every effort will be made to reduce any inconvenience.
