Calling the community to shape Albany Highway
Published on 20 October 2021
The Town of Victoria Park is calling for community input to help shape the future of Albany Highway.
Town of Victoria Park Mayor, Karen Vernon says that it’s critical to develop a clear vision for Albany Highway in partnership with the community.
“Albany Highway is an iconic destination within our Town, so it’s important that we have a plan to manage this central precinct through the strong growth that our community is expected to experience over the coming years.”
“Making great places for people is a consistent theme we’ve heard from our community in recent years, and we want to ensure that the future of Albany Highway reflects community sentiment, inspires economic growth and supports our diverse inner-city neighbourhood,” said Mayor Vernon.
Community feedback will form the basis of the Albany Highway Precinct Structure Plan – a new planning framework that will guide land use, inform movement and transport changes, drive economic development, and shape streets and open spaces throughout the Albany Highway precinct.
The Town has conducted an initial background research phase to dive deeper into recent Town projects and identify a number of community priorities for the precinct.
The Shape Albany Highway community engagement campaign will run from 20 October to 8 December and the Town encourages all members of the community to get involved and help shape Albany Highway.
