Registrations have opened for Garage Sale Trail 2022, marking a fantastic opportunity to buy and sell local, limit waste and keep the circular economy alive in Victoria Park.

The Trail is Australia’s official festival of pre-loved stuff and will be held across two weekends – 12-13 & 19-20 November – with sales held simultaneously in garages, unit blocks, schools and ovals around the nation; all the while supported with a free listing on the national map, sale tips, promotional resources and touch-free PayPal QR code payments.

In short, Garage Sale Trail does the heavy lifting so you can focus on selling your stuff. For sellers, it’s garage sales made easy. For shoppers, it’s Australia’s biggest pre-loved treasure hunt with three million items up for grabs at 10,000 garage sales across the nation.

45% of carbon emissions come from how we make, consume and dispose of stuff, making it important to extend the life of items we no longer want by selling them at a garage sale or passing them on. Doing so is a great way to limit our carbon footprint and avoid contributing to the 84% of Australian-bought clothing that ends up in landfill.

For those who are keen to extend their sustainable habits even further, there is also a series of FREE online workshops planned throughout October and November. Join celebrated journalist Annabel Crabb for a crash course on looking stylish while being thrifty, waste warrior Craig Reucassel to break down the circular economy, and TV host Barry Du Bois for some tips on renovating with the planet in mind.
