Business Hall of Fame winner, John Hughes

Winners of the 2019 Vic Park Business Awards were announced at the inaugural award ceremony on Friday 29 March.

The ceremony celebrated and recognised the contributions of local businesses in the Town of Victoria Park, and was well attended by the many finalists and community. Launched earlier in the year, the awards recognise local businesses who have excelled in a variety of categories and allowed the community a chance to show their appreciation.

My fellow Councillors and I are extremely pleased to formally recognise the positive impact these businesses have on our town.”

Business of the Year

Taking out the coveted Business of the Year Award was Archer St Physiotherapy. Archer St Physiotherapy opened in 2008 after owner Patrick set out on his own to restore an original weatherboard cottage in Carlisle where he went on to provide quality physiotherapy services to the local community in which he grew up in.

Over the past 10 years, this clinic has grown immensely to a thriving, multi-disciplinary Allied Health Centre offering a wide range of services to the local community. In 2017, the business expanded to a second location in Victoria Park to further service the community, cultivate their brand and respond to their ever-growing clientele.

Business Hall of Fame

As a part of the Town’s first ever Business Awards the Town has started a tradition of inducting someone yearly into a Business Hall of Fame.

The Town congratulates John Hughes as the 2019 Business Hall of Fame inductee.

John currently operates one of Australia’s most successful automotive businesses and in 2019, he celebrates 50 years of his business. Over the years John has shown inspiring leadership and contributed significantly to the community.

The Town has been delighted with the response received for the first awards of its kind in Vic Park and looks forward to presenting it again in 2020.
