The Town of Victoria Park has opened its annual events sponsorship program to applicants, with the maximum funding amount for the 2023-24 year increased to $100,000, from $20,000 last year.

Mayor Karen Vernon said the significant increase in funding for Major Event Sponsorship was intended to target larger event proposals with the potential to become flagship events for the Town into the future.

“Our Town is popular throughout Perth as a world-class entertainment and sporting destination, with its range of restaurants and cultural diversity, and boasting Crown Entertainment Complex, Optus Stadium, Belmont Racecourse, the State Tennis Centre and the home of the West Coast Eagles,” she said.

“We are also known for our Swan River location, award-winning Urban Forest Program, thriving education precinct including Curtin University and, of course Albany Highway, one of the longest main streets  in the Southern Hemisphere, among other things.”

“A culturally significant, large-scale event that amplifies our strengths and brings more visitors to our thriving corner of WA would be a huge benefit for our community.”

In addition to the Major Event Sponsorship category, the Town is also offering Vibrancy Sponsorships up to $10,000 for smaller community-minded proposals that cater to community appetite and/or add meaningfully to its existing roster of events.

Applications for the sponsorship round opened on 6 March and are open until 3 April. More information is available here
