With the rainfall over the past few weeks and the start of winter on the 1 June, household and municipal sprinklers must be turned off until September 1.
Your garden and lawn do not need as much water due to lower temperatures and reduced evaporation. During this time rainfall exceeds what the plants need to survive.
Water Corporation can issue a $100 on the spot fine to those that breach the restrictions.
There are some exemptions to the rules such as new lawn/garden establishment, testing your system, schools and active sporting ovals.
All of the Town's major ovals have been turned off now with the exception of a very short ‘test’ program every two weeks to minimise issues at summer start up.
Visit the Water Corporation website for more information.
