Bulk waste and green waste collection
The Town provides kerbside collections from your verge throughout the year for residential and multi-residential properties only. Both green waste and white goods are recycled where possible.
Bulk and green waste set out dates for 2023.
BULK WASTE - Set-out dates: place your bulk waste on verge
AREA 1 (Yellow on map) - 15-16 April 2023.
AREA 2 (Green on map) - 22-23 April 2023.
AREA 3 (Blue on map) - 29-30 April 2023.
AREA 4 (Orange on map) - 6-7 May 2023.
The Town will be providing each address two bulk waste collections throughout the year. The collections commence on the Monday following your scheduled weekend set-out dates.
Please note that it may take up to seven working days for your area to be collected. For those residents without a verge or with a very small verge please contact our Waste Management Services on 9311 8111 to make arrangements for collection.
Bulk waste deposited on the verge area prior to or after the collection dates indicated is considered a littering offence. Inspections will be carried out and fines issued.
Bulk waste must be placed on your verge on the weekend shown below. Waste will be collected the following week, which can be any time between Monday-Sunday.
What can I put in my BULK waste kerbside collection?
ACCEPTED
- Household furniture (no glass or table tops) - Lounges, Mattresses, Office desks.
- White goods (doors removed and degassed).
- Electronic waste - (remove all power cords) - Computers, Televisions.
- Timber products - Beds, Cupboards, Doors.
- Other household items - Toys.
NOT ACCEPTED
- Garden waste.
- Hazardous waste - All batteries, Asbestos, Globes/tubes, Machine parts, Motor oil, Paints/solvents, Tyres.
- Car bodies
- Gas cylinders
- All building materials - Bricks, Concrete, Sand or soil, Tiles
- Medical waste
- Sanitary products
- Child car seats
- Garage doors
- Fences
GREEN WASTE - Set-out dates: place your green waste on verge
AREA 1 (Yellow on map) - 28-29 January 2023 and 3-4 June 2023.
AREA 2 (Green on map) - 4-5 February 2023 and 10-11 June 2023.
AREA 3 (Blue on map) - 11-12 February 2023 and 17-18 June 2023.
AREA 4 (Orange on map) - 18-19 February 2023 and 24-25 June 2023.
The Town will be providing three (3) green waste collections for each residential address or multi residential properties as above. The collections commence at am on the Monday following your scheduled weekend set-out dates.
The waste is taken to a green waste processing facility where it is shredded and turned into horticultural products for use in landscaping. Any contaminants in your waste (chicken wire, metal, building rubble, junk, household waste) results in waste being rejected by the processing facility.

What can I put in my GREEN waste kerbside collection?
ACCEPTED
- Glass clippings, leaves, weeds (boxed or bagged).
- Tree/plant prunings, tree trunks or stumps (no larger than 1.5m in length and 30cm in diameter).
NOT ACCEPTED
- Wire mesh
- Metal
- Food Waste
- Household furniture
- Other household items
- All building materials - Bricks, Concrete, Sand or Soil, Tiles.
