Food safety training and food handling
NOTE: All food handlers are required to have demonstrated food safety skills and knowledge under the Food Act 2008. If food handling staff have not completed any food safety training, the Town offers free online food safety training called FoodSafe (this has replaced I'm Alert). To access this please visit the FoodSafe website. Add the product to the cart and enter "FSVICTO351" to apply the free code. Users who complete the course will be able to download a certificate of completion for their records. You can preview the course by clicking on this link.
Food preparation storage and transportation
NOTE: Where you purchase fresh food on the day of the event, you may be requested to provide receipts as proof of purchase to an Environmental Health Officer on the day of the event. Your business may be required to cease trading should you fail to provide proof. Where you store leftover dry ingredients (e.g. spices, herbs, pasta, rice etc), you must be registered by your local government for the premises where you store these. Proof of registration with regards to storage is required.
