Oats Street Station works and closures

Published on Wednesday, 27 March 2024 at 3:42:02 PM

METRONET has advised of proposed temporary thoroughfare closures as part of its Victoria Park-Canning Level Crossing Removal Project. These proposed closures are essential for the construction of the new Oats Street Station and will take effect during stage 1 works scheduled to take place from Monday 22 April 2024 to November 2024.

The proposed works during stage 1 will impact:

  • Oats Street between Rutland Avenue and Bank Street
  • Cohn Street at the intersection of Rutland Avenue
  • Rutland Avenue south of Cohn Street
  • Rutland Avenue travelling southbound at the intersection of Oats Street
  • Bank Street travelling northbound at the intersection of Oats Street
  • Bank Street north of Milford Street.

To minimise disruptions to local traffic, road modifications will be made opposite Cohn Street to ensure traffic flow is maintained in both directions (eastbound and westbound) - see detour map overleaf.

A reduction in speed and temporary road closures are necessary to safely undertake these works. Road conditions may be unfamiliar. Motorists are asked to exercise caution, allow extra travel time and follow traffic management signage during this period.

There will also be impacts to the principle shared path with detours in place.

Plans detailing the area affected by the closure are detailed in the map below.

Submissions may be lodged in writing to the project team by email (alucommunications@alualliance.com.au) or by post (Armadale Line Upgrade Alliance, 71 Ewing Street, Bentley, WA, 6102). The deadline for submissions is 5pm, Friday 12 April 2024.
