Mineral Town, presented as part of KickstART Festival 2024, is a story-driven exhibition that explores the power imbalance between country and the mining industry from a childlike perspective.
This illustration series places a focus on FIFO families, absent fathers, imposed masculinity on young people and the impact of these on society.
Featuring work by young WA-based artist Charlotte Meagher, the exhibition comes together to create a disruptive, community-based artwork that would otherwise be considered non-curatorial.
