Safer Neighbourhoods Plan

The Safer Neighbourhoods Plan (SNP) 2022-2027 has been developed to be a strategic guiding document for the Town to address the crime and safety issues impacting the community. We received over 1,000 community responses, which shaped the development of the plan.

The SNP will see the continuation of many of the Town's popular security initiatives, including the CCTV Partnership Program, the Security Incentive Scheme, and the Street Meet n Greet Program.

Infrastructure upgrades to the Town's public places are a key focus of the SNP, with deliverables across lighting, road and footpath safety, streetscape improvement, and more.

Supporting vulnerable and at-risk community members is another priority under the SNP. As part of this, the Town has engaged Aboriginal-owned i24s to conduct community outreach and connect people experiencing challenges including homelessness with appropriate support services.
