Council elections 

The Town of Victoria Park Ordinary Local Government Elections are held every two years, on the third Saturday in October. 

The next Local Government Election will be held on 18 October 2025. Rolls close 22 August, so check your enrolment now.

Positions up for election in 2025

Banksia Ward

Two council seats in Banksia Ward will be contested in the October 2025. They are currently held by:

  • Peter Devereux
  • Lindsay Miles

There are two Banksia Ward seats which are not up for election this year, currently held by: 

  • Claire Anderson (term ends October 2027)
  • Peter Melrosa (term ends October 2027)

Jarrah Ward

Two council seats in Jarrah Ward will be contested in the October 2025. They are currently held by:

  • Bronwyn Ife
  • Jesse Hamer

There are two Jarrah Ward seats which are not up for election this year, currently held by: 

  • Sky Croeser (term ends October 2027)
  • Daniel Minson (term ends October 2027)

 The position of Mayor will not be contested until 2027.

Is voting compulsory?

No. Unlike the State and Federal elections in Australia, voting in local government elections is entirely optional. 

How do I enrol?

You are automatically enrolled to vote if you are on the State Electoral Roll as at 5pm Friday, 22 August 2025. If you are not already on the State Electoral Roll and meet the eligibility criteria, or if you have changed address recently, you must complete an enrolment form. Read the full notice here.
