When do my bins go out?

Bins should be placed out for collection before 6am (or the night before). Please ensure that your bin is no heavier than 70kg in weight, it is placed one metre from the kerbside and the lid is completely closed. When both your general waste and recycling bins are placed out together, please allow a 30cm distance between each bin.

What is Garden Organics (GO)?

The Garden Organics (GO) three-bin system is being rolled out to all properties 400m2 and larger, as well as other properties who have opted into the system.

The GO bin (lime green lid) is for garden organic waste such as weeds, garden clippings, small branches/sticks, leaves etc. The GO bin is collected fortnightly on the opposite week to the recycling bin. We chose GO to improve our resource recovery rates and reduce waste going to landfill. If we use our bins correctly, we can all play a part in achieving WA’s target of reducing the amount of waste going to landfill by up to 70 per cent by 2025.

What goes in the other bins?

• Your recyclables bin (yellow lid) is for items that can be recycled like plastic bottles, paper, cardboard, steel cans and glass. The recyclables bin is collected fortnightly.
• Your general waste bin (red lid, or dark green lid if not on the 3-bin GO system) is for general rubbish that cannot be composted or recycled, such as nappies, plastic bags and food waste. The general waste bin is collected weekly.

What if my bin collection has been missed?

Please contact Cleanaway on (08) 6557 6907 as soon as you notice your bin has not been emptied. Dependent on the time they may be able to return and empty it on the same day.
