Bins and collections

Find everything you need to know about bins and rubbish collection in the Town of Victoria Park.

FOGO has arrived!

FOGO stands for Food Organics, Garden Organics – it's our new 3-bin system rolling out to residential properties across the Town.

In August 2025, we rolled out FOGO to households that already had a third bin for garden waste. In November, the remaining residential households will receive their third bin and make the switch to FOGO.

The new FOGO system involves key changes to bin collections, with general bin collections moving to fortnightly, and the FOGO collected weekly.

Which bins to put out

Here's where it gets a little tricky... between August and November, some residents will be using the new FOGO system, while others will still be on the 2-bin system. To find the correct bin day for your property, select the relevant option below.

If you're still on the 2-bin system and patiently waiting for your third bin later this year, hold tight! Your bin days haven't changed yet - keep doing what you're doing until FOGO arriver at your property in November.

If you've forgotten which bins to put out, call our customer service team on 9311 8111 and they can look up your specific property details.

 Frequently asked questions

What time should I put my bins out?

Bins should be placed out for collection before 6am (or the night before). Please ensure that your bin is no heavier than 70kg in weight, it is placed one metre from the kerbside and the lid is completely closed. When both your general waste and recycling bins are placed out together, please allow a 30cm distance between each bin.

What is FOGO?

FOGO stands for Food Organics, Garden Organics – it’s a new 3-bin system that turns your food and garden waste into nutrient-rich compost, helping to reduce landfill and support more sustainable waste management.

The new 3-bin system consists of:

  • 240L green lid FOGO bin, collected weekly
  • 240L red lid general waste bin, collected fortnightly
  • 240L yellow lid recycling bin, collected fortnightly
  • 7L kitchen caddy & compostable caddy liners

FOGO will be introduced in two phases:

  • In August 2025: residential households that currently have a garden organics (GO) bin will move to the FOGO system.
  • In November 2025: the remaining eligible residential properties in the Town will make the switch.
  • Please note: commercial properties and multi-unit dwellings with more than 10 units are not part of the 2025 FOGO rollout.
