Parking infringements

Parking regulations are essential for maintaining safety and equitable access to parking spaces in high-demand areas. As a licensed driver in Western Australia, it is crucial to be aware of the road rules related to parking to avoid parking infringements.

Parking infringements are issued to vehicle owners who fail to comply with parking restrictions.

Consequences of unpaid parking fines and appeals

To avoid additional costs, enforcement measures, or legal action, it is important to pay your infringement notice or contact the relevant authority within 28 days.

If you believe your parking fine is incorrect or unjust, you may request an internal review by lodging an appeal.

Please note:

  • Due to high volumes of queries and appeals, the review process may take up to two (2) weeks.
  • Your infringement will be placed on hold automatically while the review is underway.

For more details, refer to the links below.

Frequently asked questions

Why do you take photos of my car?

As an enforcement agency, we may collect photographs of vehicles that have received a parking infringement for breaching the Vehicle Management Local Law 2021. This is to document the offense and assist with any subsequent review or prosecution of an infringement.

The images are stored in a secure system only accessible to staff who require access to process internal reviews/appeals and assist with customer inquiries. We have made our photos of infringements available online to help you determine what action to take to resolve your infringement. Find out how to appeal your parking infringement

If you are having difficulty viewing photos of your parking infringement, please read below.

Why is my search showing no results found?

If you received the fine today or yesterday, the officer’s photos may not have been loaded into the system yet. This can take up to 3 days. We recommend you search for photos at least 3 days after the date the infringement was issued.

Double-check that you are correctly entering your infringement and vehicle registration number exactly as shown on the parking fine.

Why can’t I see any photos?

Photos are not always taken by authorised officers when issuing fines.

Are you allowed to publish photos online of my vehicle?

Viewing of the photos is restricted and requires both the infringement and vehicle registration number to be correctly entered to view the photos.

Why is the issue time different from the offense time?

The offense time is when the parking offense was deemed to have occurred. The issue time is when the officer finished inputting all the relevant information into their hand-held device and issued the fine to the vehicle.

Body-worn cameras

Our Parking and Ranger officers are now equipped with body-worn cameras to enhance community trust, accountability, and transparency. The cameras can also help in prosecution cases and reviewing community complaints against an officer. If you have concerns about the use of the cameras or officer conduct, you can contact the Coordinator of Parking and Ranger Services.
