Other ways to reduce waste

It's Plastic Free July!

Plastic Free July is a global movement that encourages everyone to choose to refuse single-use plastic and adopt simple, sustainable habits.

This July, we’re inviting our community to get involved by making small changes that make a big difference — starting with a pledge to reduce plastic where you can.

Simple ideas to get started:

  • Bring reusable bags (or use a cardboard box)
  • Carry a reusable bottle and coffee cup
  • Choose unwrapped produce
  • Skip plastic straws (or go paper)
  • Avoid plastic wipes
  • Switch to shampoo bars
  • Make your own household cleaners
  • Avoid plastic bin liners
  • Wear natural fibres
  • Choose laundry sheets, powder or liquid (in eco-friendly packaging)
  • Switch to reusable razors
  • Choose reusable period products
  • Avoid plastic decorations
  • Store food using containers or beeswax wraps
  • Dine in or BYO container and cutlery

Make the pledge — whether it’s refusing single-use coffee cups, carrying reusables, or trying one new swap this month.
