Entries for the Vic Park Youth Art Awards are now open, so get ready to express yourself and show the Town your creative side.

The Awards are free to enter and open to youth aged 5-18 who are residents of the Town of Victoria Park, or enrolled in a school within the Town of Victoria Park.

Start creating now and submit your entry before Friday 23 May. The exhibition opens Friday 13 June at Hawaiian's Park Centre.

Eligibility

  1. All entrants must be:
    1. a resident of, or enrolled in a primary or secondary school within the Town of Victoria Park; and
    2. between 5 and 18 years of age (inclusive).

Proof of age and/or enrolment may be requested.

Conditions of Entry

  1. Limit of one entry per person. Diptych and triptych works must fit within the maximum space allowed for a single
    entry (refer to conditions 14 and 15)
  2. A maximum of approximately 200 hung works can be shown relative to size. Entries may close early if this limit is reached before the closing date.
  3. Submitted works must be original and completed unassisted by the submitting artist
  4. Submitted works must have been completed within the last 12 months
  5. All works are eligible for the Open Award, the People’s Choice Awards, and the award for their age category
  6. Upon delivery, a printout of the completed entry form must be attached to the work
  7. Entrants must submit a complete entry form with their full name and contact details. If entrants opt to exhibit
    anonymously, their name will not be displayed during the exhibition
  8. Unframed artworks will be mounted by a method of the curator’s choice
  9. Works received after the delivery deadline will not be included in the exhibition
  10. Participating schools and the Town of Victoria Park administration office will act as a receival point for exhibiting
    works. Following the exhibition, works will be returned to the same location as they were received
  11. Works left uncollected after 27 June 2025 will be disposed of, unless alternative arrangements have been made.
  12. 2D works must not exceed 42cm x 42cm (long length of an A3)
  13. 3D works must not exceed 50cm x 50cm x 50cm (fashion mannequins exempt). Contact Renee at wrenscapecreative@gmail.com if you have concerns or specific display requirements
  14. Digitally created works must be printed to be exhibited as electronic display cannot be accommodated
  15. All works must be deemed appropriate to be exhibited in a public space. The Town of Victoria Park and Wrenscape retain the right to deem works unsuitable at their discretion
  16. While care is taken, the Town of Victoria Park, Hawaiian and Wrenscape hold no responsibility for damage caused to works during transport, installation, de-installation, and while the works are on public display
  17. The Town of Victoria Park, Hawaiian, and Wrenscape reserve the right to reproduce photographs of all works for
    promotions, marketing or educational purposes at no cost
  18. The decision of the independent judging panel is final. No correspondence will be entered into
  19. Advanced notice to award recipients cannot be guaranteed
  20. It is the responsibility of entrants to abide by the key dates listed above
  21. Absent award winners will be notified via the contact details listed on their entry form
  22. People’s Choice voting will be open from Friday 13 June to Sunday 22 June, with one vote per voter per age category accepted
  23. People’s Choice Award winner will be notified via the contract details listed on their entry form, and their certificate will be delivered to their school

    b. Drawing
    c. Printmaking
    d. Sculpture
    e. Mixed Media
    f. Textiles/Fashion
  3. Thematic categories include:
    a. Local Hero: Local people who inspire us or make our community better,
    b. Local Places: Local landmarks or places significant to the artist,
    c. Local Environment: Environmental themes that relate to our neighbourhood
  4. The curator has the right to change or alter award categories without notice, relative to the works receive
