The Town has received a development application proposing a change of use to childcare premises and additions/alterations at the above-mentioned property, comprising:

• Business activities –
• Establishment of an early childhood centre (pre-kindy program) childcare premises;
• A maximum of 15 children supported by two permanent staff members;
• Operational hours from 8.30am to 3.30pm within standard school hours;
• External additions/alterations including installation of fencing around a portion of the front and side gardens to create an outdoor play area; and
• Internal additions/alterations to create an administrative area, educational and play areas, sanitary areas etc.

In accordance with the Town’s Local Planning Policy 37 ‘Community Consultation on Planning Proposals’, you are invited to comment on the following:

• Proposed use – The subject land is reserved as ‘Civic and Community’ under the Town’s Local Planning Scheme 2 (LPS2).  In accordance with the Town’s LPS2, the local government is required to consider the proposed Childcare Premises use in relation to the objectives of the Civic and Community reserve along with relevant development requirements, such as the provisions of the Town's Local Planning Policy 6 ‘Family Day Care and Childcare Premises’ (LPP6).
