Home Energy Efficiency Workshop

Past Event

Want to learn how you can keep your power bills down and enjoy a comfortable home?

This workshop is designed to empower residents with the knowledge they need to interpret power bills and reduce electricity consumption in the home.

The workshop will be presented in two sections.

The first utilises Synergy as a case study. Synergy is the primary residential electricity provider in the Perth and Peel region, supplying power to residences throughout the South West Interconnected System (SWIS). Participants will be provided with…

  1. An explanation of residential billing and information available through Synergy online,
  2. Details on various residential pricing tariffs,
  3. An introduction to the Solar Rewards Scheme, and
  4. A case study showing why being aware is so important.

The second part of the workshop will dive into the typical electricity consumption of different aspects of the average Perth home. These include heating and cooling, hot water, entertainment and lighting. Each section provides simple tips and tricks on how you can reduce electricity consumption and cost. The energy efficiency labelling scheme will also be discussed, along with a demonstration of simple technology used to help measure and manage electricity consumption.
