The Town is embarking on an exciting new project to look at the future of the areas around the Oats Street station.
The Oats Street precinct has been identified in State and Local Government planning frameworks as having the potential for greater development. To guide future development, we’re investigating opportunities for growth and improvement, and will engage community, businesses, and other key stakeholders to develop a precinct structure plan.
The project aims to capitalise on the transformation of the Oats Street station and new parkland, the community activity associated with Aqualife and TAFE, and the potential for redevelopment of the light industry commercial area in the future.
We’re currently undertaking initial community engagement and exploring redevelopment scenarios. We want to know about your needs, aspirations and ideas for the future of precinct. This will help us draft recommendations for change – including land use changes, street improvements, infrastructure upgrades and more.
