Rutland Avenue one-way trial

Published on Wednesday, 9 August 2023 at 7:00:00 AM

The Town is considering converting Rutland Avenue from Midgley Street to Gallipoli Street into a one-way southbound corridor to improve project outcomes for the Rutland Avenue Shared Path project.

To test how a one-way street might impact the local area, the Town converted part of Rutland Avenue to one-way for a trial period of two weeks in early May, where the southbound lane was open to vehicles and the northbound lane was used as a cycling path.

Now that the trial is complete, we would like to share our findings and the full traffic data with the community and ask for final feedback before referring the proposal to Council for a decision.

To find out more about the proposal, view the traffic data and share your feedback, visit Your Thoughts below by Wednesday 30 August 2023.
