Section 7.12A of the Local Government Act 1995 - Audit Findings

In accordance with Section 7.12A of the Local Government Act 1995, local governments are required to demonstrate transparency and accountability in their financial and operational practices.

This includes:

  • Assisting auditors in conducting thorough and timely audits;
  • Reviewing and responding to any significant matters raised in the audit report;
  • Preparing a formal report outlining the actions taken or planned in response to those matters;
  • Submitting this report to the Minister within three months of receiving the audit report;
  • Publishing the report on the local government’s official website within 14 days of submission.
