ePermits – Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Getting started

What is the ePermits system?

ePermits is the Town’s new online parking permit system. It allows residents, businesses, support workers, contractors and staff to apply for, manage and renew parking permits online.

Who can use ePermits?

ePermits can be used by residents, businesses, support workers, contractors and trades, Event Permit holders in the Burswood Peninsula, and Town staff. Availability depends on your location and eligibility.

Do I need to create an account?

Yes. You’ll need to register an online account to apply for and manage permits.

Applying for a permit

Which permit should I apply for?

The permit you can apply for depends on where you are located and whether you meet the eligibility requirements.

Residents may be eligible for Residential Parking Permits, Transitional Parking Permits, or Event Permits (Burswood Peninsula).

Businesses may be eligible for Commercial Parking Permits, Loading Zone Permits, or Reserve Parking Bay Agreements.

Support Workers permits are applied for by residents on behalf of registered carers. Contractors and trades must apply for Parking Work Zone Permits.

The ePermits system will guide you through eligibility during the application process.

What documents do I need?

Documents vary by permit type and may include proof of residency, vehicle registration, business registration, or supporting care/work documents.

How long does approval take?

Most applications are reviewed within 3–5 business days.

Payments and fees

How much does a permit cost?

Fees vary depending on permit type and are shown during application.

Can I get a refund?

No refunds are provided if a permit is cancelled or auto-renewed.

Managing your permit

Do I need to display my permit?

No. All permits are digital.

Can I update my vehicle registration?

Yes. Vehicle details can be updated through your ePermits account.

Rules and enforcement

Does a permit guarantee parking?

No. Parking is first-come, first-served.

Transition to ePermits

What happens during the transition from the old permit system (vPermit)?

Existing permits remain valid until expiry. New or renewed permits must be applied for through ePermits. Event Permit holders (Burswood Peninsula) must re-register between April and June 2026. Fees will be waived for existing Event Permit holders during this transition period.
