Kick off our free Advocacy & Arts program with Youth Pride Network discussing the importance of advocacy! Learn about the different levels of advocacy and how to build a campaign focusing on the challenges facing young LGBTQIA+ people.

In the second part of the workshop, the Vic Park Young Leaders will host a pot painting and planting session with Colour Co, perfect for all skill levels! Paint your way to a colourful planter in a design of your choosing, ready to house your plant of choice. All materials and plants included.

About Youth Pride Network

A committee is a group of young LGBTIQA+ people from across Western Australia who are working to improve the lives of all young LGBTIQA+ people in the state through systemic advocacy, education, and events. Established in 2017, during the marriage equality plebiscite.


About Vic Park Young Leaders

The Young Leaders work to generate youth-based events and communications strategies with the Town. They will be the first port of call to provide advice and feedback on policies and procedures, deliver youth-engagement activities and work with the Town on relevant initiatives. 


About Colour Co

Get colourful and creative with a brand new, Perth-based creative workshop group ready to bring some colour to your world. Specialising in creating vibrant and bold pieces, you'll always leave Colour Co Workshops with a smile and a beautiful work of art! Their workshops are fun, engaging, and suitable for all skill levels.


About Advocacy & Arts

A FREE program of workshops for young people that combines LGBTQIA+ advocacy with the arts. Over six workshops across August to October, learn practical approaches to LGBTQIA+ leadership and allyship and make something arty. It’s crafty and educational!

These workshops are designed for younger folks, ages 16–26.

Advocacy & Arts is presented by the Town of Victoria Park in partnership with Youth Affairs Council of Western Australia (YACWA) and Victoria Park Community Centre.
