McCallum Park

McCallum Park

Alexander McCallum (1877-1937) was MLA for South Fremantle from 1921 to 1935. As Minister for Works, Water Supply, Sewerage and Drainage, his pet project was the reclamation of the Swan River foreshore.

McCallum Park is located on the Town's foreshore section of the Swan River. The large open spaces, Boorloo Bridge, McCallum Park Active Area and backdrop of the river and city skyline make it perfect for small or large events, including many charity, community and corporate gatherings throughout the year.

The McCallum Park Active Area project is the most recent improvement to the park under the Taylor Reserve and McCallum Park Masterplan, and includes:

  • Revitalised basketball courts featuring large-scale artworks
  • A BMX pump track
  • New competition-ready skate and scooter facilities, including a large skateable plaza
  • Spectator areas
  • Community gathering spaces
  • General landscaping upgrades
