UNLEASHED is a free, peer-led workshop series for young people with disability

Are you aged 18-25 and identify as having a disability?

Want to learn about your rights at work, how to speak up, and use your living/lived experience in safe and powerful ways?

The UNLEASHED team strives to provide safe and supportive opportunities that support you to the gain skills and knowledge to not only find work but successfully maintain and thrive in employment.

Our workshops support young people with disability who face barriers to gaining, maintaining and thriving in employment. Anyone aged 15-25 who identifies with disability is welcome to register.

All workshops will take place at the Victoria Park Community Centre: 248 Gloucester St, East Victoria Park WA 6101

Workshop 1 — Finding Your Work Why ( Tuesday 29th of September - 3-6PM) Exploring why you want to work; what would that look like; your strengths, values, and what drives you — including how lived experience shapes what you bring to work.

Workshop 2 — The World of Work (Thursday 1st of October- 3-6PM) Understand different types of employment, what to look for (and watch out for) in a workplace, and how to communicate your needs and style at work.

Workshop 3 — Resume Building (Wednesday 7th of October- 3-6PM) Learn how to rework your existing CV to match what an employer is asking for in the roles you want, and how to disclose disability or accommodations on a job application in a safe and accessible way

Workshop 4 — Interviewing and What Happens Next (Friday 9th of October - 3-6PM ) Understand what employers are really asking, prepare your answers, and practice in a low-pressure setting — including how to talk about what you need to do your best work and the first steps after an interview.

We encourage you to attend all four sessions but you are welcome to attend just the ones most useful to you.
