There’s plenty to celebrate at Aqualife's Swim School, with the team recognised on both the state and national stage during the 2025 awards season.
At the Australian Swim Schools Association (ASSA) Awards, Aqualife was named 'Inclusive Swim School of the Year' for Western Australia — and nationally — a remarkable achievement that recognises the impact of its Complex Needs Program.
The Complex Needs Program provides tailored support to ensure children of all abilities can learn to swim safely and confidently, reinforcing Aqualife’s commitment to inclusion and access for all.
Aqualife was also awarded Highly Commended 'Swim School of the Year' for WA, further cementing its reputation as a leader in the sector.
Closer to home, the Leisure Institute of Western Australia (LIWA) named Aqualife a finalist for 'Swim School of the Year'.
Aqualife Swim Teacher Helen Harris shone brightly this year, winning 'Swim Teacher of the Year' at both the LIWA and ASSA WA Awards, and earning recognition as a national finalist with ASSA.
Helen’s teaching style — marked by patience, passion and genuine care — has made her a much-loved figure among families and students alike.
Swim School Coordinator Kim McMinn was named a national finalist for the Swim Australia Leadership in Aquatics Award.
Over the past six years, Kim has led Aqualife through significant growth and innovation — modernising systems, introducing new programs and championing inclusivity initiatives. Under his leadership, the Swim School has experienced 36.5% growth and record enrolments, evolving from a strong local provider to one recognised across Australia.
While these awards recognise outstanding individuals, they also reflect the strength of the entire Aqualife team. From teachers on the pool deck to staff behind the scenes, each person plays a vital role in creating a safe, welcoming and supportive environment for our community.
We couldn’t be prouder of what this team continues to achieve.
