METRONET - Armadale line launch

Published on Tuesday, 23 September 2025 at 2:15:34 PM

The full length of the Armadale Line will reopen on Sunday 12 October, with a community event – Elevate and Celebrate – planned.

The free, family-friendly event will mark three milestones:

  • the reopening of the Armadale Line
  • the Byford Rail Extension opening for passenger services
  • official opening of Long Park.

The community is invited to celebrate at Byford Station and along Long Park between Oats Street and Carlisle stations. The new Armadale Station will also have community stalls, children's entertainment and food trucks.

What’s on

Travel along the transformed Armadale Line and enjoy:

  • free kid’s activities and amusement rides
  • live entertainment and community performances
  • community market stalls showcasing local groups and businesses
  • food trucks and refreshments
  • METRONET project info and giveaways.

There will also be dog-friendly activities at Long Park, featuring the Puppy Pawrade and a Puppy Wall – the perfect backdrop for selfies with your dog.

Dogs are welcome at Long Park, but just a heads-up, pets aren’t allowed on trains or other Transperth facilities (including stations and platforms). Assistance dogs excepted.

Two Feet and a Heartbeat tours will also be offering engaging stories and insights into all the new artworks along the revitalised line.

Plus LOTS more. Visit the METRONET website for more details
