As of 20 November 2023, the Armadale rail line will shut down for 18 months to allow construction of the METRONET Victoria Park-Canning Level Crossing Removal (LXR) project.
The Public Transport Authority has planned for replacement bus services to operate from Victoria Park train station during the shutdown, which will mean additional bus movements on local roads in the area.
To help with the flow of traffic, safe vehicle movements and unobstructed travel for buses along these routes, the Town will be introducing temporary parking restrictions.
Initial temporary parking restrictions will impact Duncan Street, Harper Street, Kitchener Avenue and Axon Avenue in Victoria Park, commencing as of 20 November 2023 and remaining in place until the operation of the replacement buses has ceased. See the attached pdf maps below for zones affected.
A second phase of parking restrictions is likely to be necessary on other local roads after replacement bus services begin. The Town will monitor the situation and do all it can to limit impacts on residents.
