We usually send out new waste calendars around this time of year, but with big changes coming to our waste services this year, we’re holding off until the new system begins.
What’s coming? FOGO is on the way!
In May, Council approved the rollout of the FOGO 3-bin system for residential properties in the Town, starting from August 2025.
FOGO stands for Food Organics, Garden Organics – it’s a new 3-bin system that turns your food and garden waste into nutrient-rich compost, helping to reduce landfill and support more sustainable waste management. With FOGO, you’ll be able to put your food scraps and garden waste in the same bin.
Some households already have a third bin for garden organics – these residents will simply start adding food scraps to the same bin when the first stage of the FOGO rollout begins in August. Other households will receive their third bin later in the year.
We’re currently finalising the rollout details, and full information will be shared soon.
In the meantime
Your bin days will stay the same until FOGO begins. When the new system starts, you’ll receive a fresh waste calendar and a full FOGO guide.
