Boorloo Bridge (Causeway Pedestrian and Cyclist Bridge) is a Main Roads WA project delivered by the Causeway Link Alliance in late-2024, and was constructed to improve access across the Swan River. The bridge offers a safe connection between the Perth CBD and Victoria Park, with part of the bridge located in McCallum Park.
The bridge design was developed in consultation with Traditional Custodians, local governments, specialist groups, and government agencies, taking into consideration path and river user requirements, as well as local developments. The design reflects Whadjuk Noongar culture, and recognises the Aboriginal heritage significance of the area.
The project aimed to provide great benefits to the community, including:
- New bike riding and pedestrian friendly facilities between Victoria Park and the CBD, including improved access to Heirisson Island.
- Improved safety, connectivity, and amenity for the community - an alternative route to the existing Causeway Bridge pathway.
- A high-quality attraction that brings the local community and visitors to the area, and encourages walking and cycling.
- An iconic and innovative feature for Victoria Park and Perth.
